Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy (2025)
Directed by: Michael Morris

Even in the simplest of things, this movie always finds its way to be relatable and heartfelt. 𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘑𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴 is not just a character but a real human being you can easily connect with.
There’s no pretensions and exaggerations. Not overly dramatic but it’s emotional. Not so loud yet it’s resonating. The moments felt real and intimate. It’s very human. A raw and honest portrayal of life.
The movie is truly adjacent to a diary. Each page has its own beauty. Acknowledge every step of the way. Feel the ups and downs. Embrace the joy and pain.
It may have started weak, but it ended strong. There’s dullness in the beginning, which is reminiscent of the main character’s life. But as soon as she wrote her next chapter, colors started to appear.
The title “𝘔𝘢𝘥 𝘈𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘺” doesn’t entirely capture the film’s tone, but that’s not something to be mad about. The direction is sincere and calm, allowing life experiences to shine. Emotions are amplified by a concise and powerful musical score. The transitions are smooth. Renée Zellweger is perfect and lovable.
Even if you’re not familiar with Bridget Jones, you’ll surely end up loving her. Even without knowing anything about the franchise, this movie is beautiful on its own.
Among the roster of films showing today, 𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘑𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴 is a perfect date this Valentine’s day. Nothing more romantic than having a date with life.
Allow yourself to live and not just survive.
