Cleaners (QCinema 2019)
Directed by: Glenn Barit
May estudyanteng maarte. Friends na solid ang samahan. Classmates na nagliligawan. Student Leader na pambato ng mga magulang. At meron ding Class President that demands to be respected.
Iba’t iba man sila ng anyo at kulay.
The actors are natural in what they’re doing. Them being students in real life helped boost their authenticity. They know how it feels like to be young and naive. And so that’s what they are sharing to us. They didn’t feel like a stranger at all.
The film, having a familiar topic and being in black-and-white, brought nostalgia in a creative way. Only the main characters are highlighted with colors. Your focus is directed towards their actions. It was pleasing to look at and follow.
Aside from the satisfying visuals, they chose the right songs to make every scene effective and memorable. Mas nakakaantig at mas nakakadala.
The ending felt like fireworks with its resounding moment. All the elements — from the song, colors, actors and message — come together to create a magical experience that speaks through the heart. You wouldn’t think of any questions, for it just feels so right. What a perfect way to conclude this movie.
Cleaners is a well-directed film na walang tapon at walang dapat linisin. It may be in black and white. But it is one of the most colorful movies ever created.
