Huling Ulan Sa Tag-araw (MMFF 2021)
Directed by: Louie Ignacio
A seminarian hired a prostitute
for a week-long province vacation.
The movie is brave in choosing a controversial and sensitive topic. However, it was not utilized for the greater good.
The church is nothing but a mere shooting location. The club is just a hallow space for production numbers.
The characters don’t seem to care about their roles in the society. The discussions they had were insignificant and not fruitful.
What we get is their romance story that’s anti-climactic and unrealistic.
Some scenes are forced. It’s just there to add more drama to the story. The direction is unexciting and passionless.
