I’m Drunk, I Love You (2017)
Directed by: JP Habac
No amount of beer can make you feel numb of the pain this film can give.
The truth hurts.
Her last scene sums up all the foolishness, sorrow and joy she’s been through, as she takes a shot with the reality.
His minimal gestures are enough to make you fall for him or fall out of love. His passiveness creates a motion and tension towards the characters around him.
Dominic Roco never runs out of witty lines for the purpose of reality check. He lights up every conversation.
Seven Years.
Two Days.
Or Five Minutes.
Hanggang Dito Na Lang.
The soundtrack renders the necessary emotions in every scene. The mellow vibe essentially captures the sobriety in every drinking session. The last song they played contains the right lyrics and arrangement, serving as a perfect accompaniment to a worthwhile ending.
Even during the credits part, they still manage to relive the bittersweet memories anew. Along with their several continuous shots, the characters never lose their connection and emotion.
The story stays with you even after seven years have passed.
