MOMMY ISSUES

Mommy Issues (2021)

Directed by: Jose Javier Reyes

Mother and Daughter are having issues with one another. How will they solve it?

This movie won’t show how to solve those family issues. Instead, they would just play around with it until it gets solved.

Gloria Diaz has elegance and wit all over her character. All the cast actually made this movie a little less lonely and less serious.

With that being said, they tend be careless sometimes. Some acts are unethical and some lines are insensitive—with no proper counteraction and realization afterwards. There’s also noticeable continuity shortcuts, creating an abrupt feeling towards the ending.

This movie can get surreal at some point. If they injected more sincerity and reality to some crucial confrontations, then the movie could have been more significant.

Nonetheless, this movie never pretended to be something else. They have been consistent with their humor and jokes—enough to keep you entertained from start to end.

Problems don’t get solved on their own. But maybe with laughter and romance, things can get a little bit better.

And that’s what this movie has offered.
