Mujigae (2024)
Directed by: Randolph Longjas
Most actors are underutilized, but it doesn’t stop them from giving good performances. Despite short appearance, Anna Luna was still felt. Donna Cariaga never fails to be entertaining. Rufa Mae Quinto’s banters made the movie lively.
There’s a scene wherein Kate Alejandrino’s character was contemplating whether she deserves to have a child or not. The way she shares her worth and agony was contagious, making it one of the best moments from the movie. She deserves more projects that can showcase her acting skills.
Kim Ji Soo’s appearance is brief and unremarkable. Putting him on the poster is misleading. Pang-special appearance ang kanyang nagawa.
The direction and the script pulled this movie down. The journey of the characters towards healing and acceptance was abrupt. Problems get resolved overnight. Lifelong dreams instantly vanish. Some scenes felt like an advertisement promoting a product for kids.
Contrary to their title which means rainbow, the movie lacks life and colors. If not for the actors, 𝘔𝘶𝘫𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘦 would suffer from complete darkness.
