Elegant stage design. Stylish costumes. Heartwarming songs. Dedicated artists. Good choreography. Atmospheric lighting.
It has all the elements of how a musical should be.
Myke Salomon’s high energy is steady throughout this nearly 3-hour long musical. Markki Stroem’s transformation from being a careless kid to a careful adult is the best character development in the story. Jon Abella’s animated face will keep you entertained. Phi Palmos’ strong presence demands to be felt.
Gab Pangilinan shines whenever she’s in the scene. Even without talking, the sound of her hum alone is addictively enchanting. And when she finally sings, your eardrums and your heart will collide.
Gab Pangilinan’s 𝘈𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘢𝘣𝘪 𝘕𝘪𝘭𝘢 is the most emotionally gratifying performance from the musical. No back-up dancers. No background. It’s just her voice soaring with intense emotions. Worthy of a standing ovation.
The songs 𝘐𝘬𝘢𝘸, 𝘔𝘶𝘭𝘢 𝘚𝘢 𝘉𝘶𝘸𝘢𝘯, and 𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘱𝘰𝘴 𝘋𝘪𝘯 are also beautiful in their own ways. While the rest of the songs need a second listening for them to be fully appreciated. The nose prosthetics and its reveal need improvement. The war setting was not felt. The lines, filled with poems, are sometimes awe-inspiring. But their conversations are better when they are speaking in their most natural way.
Having the chance to witness both the live stage musical and the proshot film, it’s safe to say that the latter is more engrossing.

Tanaw mo ang kwento sa kanilang galaw. Ramdam mo ang sinasabi ng kanilang mata. Dinig mo ang sakit sa kanilang boses.
Ang huling mga sandali ang siyang pinaka-dapat abangan. Dahil mula sa mundong nakasanayan… Dadalhin ka nito sa kakaibang daigdig kung saan naghahalo ang saya, lungkot, pighati at kalungkutan.
Dadalhin ka nito sa Buwan.
Handa ka na bang maglakbay upang ito’y maranasan?
