My Father, Myself (MMFF 2022)
Directed by: Joel Lamangan
A man is in a romantic relationship with his stepsister, but he is deeply in love with his foster father.
Who will he choose ?
His father, his sister… or himself ?
The movie feeds us with all the drama. The plot is chaotic. The lines are shocking. The scenes are feisty.
Mapanukso. Mapangahas. Matapang.
Having relationships that are too complex, the movie should handle the characters with care—which they failed to do.
Having a story that’s extremely controversial, the movie should aim to educate and enlighten—which they failed to give.
With all its absurdity, the movie’s primary goal is to bring noise and to stir controversy.
Andiyan lang ang pelikula para pag-usapan.
At duon na natapos ang kanilang hangarin.
