NANAHIMIK ANG GABI

Nanahimik Ang Gabi (MMFF 2022)

Directed by: Shugo Praico

Tahimik ang atake sa mga eksena.

Maingay ang sinisigaw nitong ganda.

Director Shugo Praico navigated the movie with passion and elegance. The shots are stylish. The editing is clean. The scoring is effective. The transition, from inside the house to the outside, is just breathtaking.

The three actors are utilized well. Ian Veneracion’s charm is suited for the story, as he used it for seduction and manipulation. Mon Confiado is effortless in unleashing his monster within and of the people around him.

Heaven Peralejo is a revelation.

The mistress aspect of the story could’ve been used to add more color and depth in achieving the character’s redemption arc. The movie tends to prolong its storytelling, making it dragging in some parts. Still, the suspense and questions didn’t fade away.
