REAL LIFE FICTION

Real Life Fiction (2024)

Written & Directed by: Paul Soriano

This is a movie within a movie.

While watching, you’ll never know which scenes are entirely true. There’s an invisible line between reality and fiction.

As the movie plays around with their scenes, different versions of truth will also play inside your mind. After watching, audiences will have their own unique movie experience depending on which parts they’d like to believe is true.

If one likes to believe that this is a coming out story, then no one can take away that experience from them. If someone likes to believe that Toni Gonzaga appeared in this movie, then that’s something we also cannot invalidate.

All throughout the film, everyone is speaking in English and it doesn’t sound natural. Also, there’s a lot of fleeting conversations. Dialogues feel like they’re coming out from pocket books. Most scenes look like a music video. Sex scenes look like a photo shoot.

The movie is dwelling more on fiction, losing touch of reality. The two sides didn’t have a good blend. You’re more fixated on the film’s concept than the main character’s story.
